The awful 2004 sequel (“Meet the Fockers”) celebrates the charms of Jay Roach’s original. Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller enjoy every minute of their comic duel between future father-in-law and fumbling bridegroom (a male nurse, of course). Even Owen Wilson jumps through hoops to make his extended cameo hit home. The slapstick is a parody of a 1950s American comedy of manners: vulgar, goofy, and high on happy endings. Inconsequential but sweet paint-the-cat fun.
